Fiery Friday

this fire drill...
fire truck at the IT Park, our office building in the background

It took a total of 45 minutes. When the fire alarm blared inside the building, we all ran in a single file to the stairwell, ran down the ramp to exit to the parking area and proceeded to the evacuation spot. Looking around, I saw road barricades on both sides to try to keep motorists from blocking the escape route. People in jeepneys and cars that were blocked entry ogled at the hundreds of employees coming out of our office building. Firemen were assisting a few seemingly injured people into the open area. It was midday but we didn’t mind the sweltering heat as we rushed out.

what brought about this...

assembly of smiling faces?

This could be real-life and seriously more life-threatening. Good thing this was just a fire drill and everyone else knew what to do.

parang mga models; not really geek-looking which is what they really are…good thing 5 floors lang kayo…and that it’s just a firedrill

It was a good thing everyone got out safely. It seems that you all were relaxed and took advantage of the photo-op. You would never guess that you all had just been evacuated from the building.

Our building is about 12 floors and we are on the 8th. If it were the real thing, it would have been a bit more daunting running down all those 8 floors.

Model-looking cool geeks. Hehehe…

Yeah, fire-drills, if not done properly, could lead to injuries. Hehehe… That’s a common thing in the office we share, we all love to hog the camera! 😀

it never hurts to be prepared. ok yan! 🙂

We did have a fire drill one time here in Net One Center (The Fort) years ago. Funny thing, it did become a real file as for some reason, one office curtain got fire. It wasn’t that big nman pero the whole fire drill thing was funny!

Yes, that’s why even if we would have wanted to just stay indoors to enjoy the A/C on a humid afternoon, we complied with the building admin’s request. Mahirap na.

Whoa! It did? That would have been scary, unless the others were not aware there was a real fire going on.

I agree it was kinda fun… seeing the other office tenants for the 1st time. 😀
